Hip-hop fans know Asian Doll isn’t exactly a fan favorite these days, mostly because of the way she reacted when King Von lost his life late in 2020. In case you haven’t been paying attention to what’s gone on in the rap world, King Von was murdered by a group of his rivals outside of a venue in Atlanta, Georgia. Reports claimed it was actually a hookah lounge.

At one point, Asian Doll and King Von were an item, so the rapper took it particularly hard. In fact, many social media users complained that it seemed as though Asian Doll was taking it a little bit too hard, to the point of insincerity.

People such as DJ Akademiks called her out as well, arguing that it was clear that she was just using the rapper’s death for clout. In other words, she supposedly used his death as a way of getting attention and publicity to herself.

A lot has happened over the last few weeks though. Hot New Hip Hop says the performing artist recently came out with a social media post in which she said she had entered the “final stage of grief” over Von’s death and was slowly getting better.

During her appearence on Taraji P. Henson’s Facebook show, Asian Doll discussed the rapper’s death and also how she has been doing ever since it happened late last year. “I was broken,” Asian Doll said to the host of the popular Facebook series.

According to Asian Doll, the shooting that took King Von’s life occurred just six days after they had broken up. This Wednesday morning, the rapper explained that during his final days, she didn’t want to see King Von, but she never wanted him to go out the way he did.

Asian Doll went on to tell the host that she has been taken every day one at a time. In the morning when she wakes up, she just tells herself it’s time to move on and not dwell in the past. Asian said she was in the “final stage” of her grief, adding that it was time for a “new life.”
