Brighton are poised to trim their playing staff with a series of departures by the end of the summer transfer window.

Robert Sanchez, Michal Karbownik, Reda Khadra, Andi Zeqiri and Aaron Connolly will all be loaned out or sold before the September 1 deadline.

They have not been included in a squad of 33 for the pre-season tour of the U.S. and have been deemed as surplus to requirements by head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

The Athletic revealed on Tuesday the exclusion of former No 1 Sanchez.

De Zerbi has taken four goalkeepers on the trip: current first choice Jason Steele, recent signing Bart Verbruggen, Canadian international Tom McGill and England under-21 Carl Rushworth.

The squad also includes England under-20 left-back Imari Samuels and 19-year-old midfielder Benecio Baker-Boaitey, neither of whom have made a senior appearance in English football.

Jakub Moder is not in the party for games against Chelsea in Philadelphia on July 22, Brentford in Atalanta on July 26 and Newcastle in New Jersey on July 28.

The Polish international midfielder has not fully recovered yet after 15 months out with severe knee damage, which required two operations.

Ecuador international prospect Jeremy Sarmiento, who has been hampered by injury issues over the past 18 months, is another notable absentee.

Goalkeepers Kjell Scherpen (Sturm Graz) and James Beadle (Oxford United) midfielder Kacper Kozlowski (Vitesse Arnhem) and forward Abdallah Sima (Glasgow Rangers) have been loaned out so far by Brighton in the summer window.
