She was the Nanny and she’s Happily Divorced, but her television roles don’t apply to her new role in real life; wife! Fran Drescher is now a married woman. The former “The Nanny” star and star of “Happily Divorced,” is now the wife of Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai. The couple exchanged vows at their beach house over the weekend.
The couple has been together just over a year. Ayyadurai, 50, is the man responsible for the patent behind email and 56-year-old Drescher is a famous actress. The couple met over a year ago when Deepak Chopra hosted an event in which Ayyadurai spoke.
“Fran heard my talk and we fell in love, and we’ve been together ever since that talk. Every day is a celebration with Fran. Every day is almost a romantic hangout with her. We’re always laughing, always enjoying ourselves,” says Ayyadurai of his new bride.
Drescher has been big in Hollywood for decades, and she spent 21 years married to a man by the name of Peter Marc Jacobsen, whom she divorced in 1999 after he decided to come out as a gay man. However, they remain close enough to work together on a regular basis considering that the two are producing partners.
Their wedding was one that was very low-key. The groom wore a Ralph Lauren tux and the bride donned a gown by Badgley Mischka. They were wed at their home on the beach and the ceremony and reception that followed was attended by only their closest friends and family members. The couple is not overly public about their relationship, though they never denied their romantic involvement or their engagement in any way. They’re just a private couple that was able to wed one another without all the pomp and circumstance so common in Hollywood marriages.
