Just like many other celebrities before them, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra used their platforms to also talk about the systemic racism that is such a bitter reality in the United States. Amid protests taking place all over the country, the married singer and actress couple encouraged people to ‘take action’ and confront these racial inequalities.

The Jonas Brothers member tweeted earlier today all about his and his wife’s reactions to the heartbreaking events.

Furthermore, he reminded fans that the time to fight is now and there should be no postponing doing the right thing.

‘Pri and I have heavy hearts …The reality of all the inequalities in this country, and all around the world, is glaring. Systemic racism, bigotry, exclusion have gone on for way too long, and remaining silent not only reinforces it, but it also allows it to continue,’ the singer wrote.

His response to the Black Lives Matter movement comes a week after, George Floyd was murdered by a police officer in broad daylight and while multiple people were filming everything!

The cop kept kneeling on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes in total, including quite a lot of time after he had become unresponsive.

The death sentence came after the African-American man and father was suspected of having used a counterfeit $20 bill to buy cigarettes.

The accusation, however, is yet to be proven at this point into the investigation.

Nick’s message went on: ‘The time to take action is NOW. It is no longer enough to say ‘I’m not racist’. We must do the work to be ANTI-racist and stand with the black community. In our first step towards our continued efforts to help fight this fight, Pri and I have donated to the @eji_org and @ACLU. We stand with you and we love you. #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd.’
